The design of this 46-unit housing project is meant to blend in with and pay homage to the Craftsman style homes that are so common to this San Gabriel Valley community. A comfortable outdoor environment is achieved by way of elegant courtyards which can be viewed from open-air, single-loaded corridors, various water features, and decks. Living units feature generous storage, closed-circuit television broadcasting billiard tournaments and other events, architectural niches to encourage the personalization of spaces, and other amenities to promote independent living for seniors. Communal lounge spaces and a kitchen are also included on the grounds.
"They have come up with an excellent design for the project which provides good circulation and well placed indoor and outdoor common areas and a quality environment for the seniors. They have taken advantage of the unusual conditions at the site and have been responsive both to our requirements and the requirements of the City and Senior Housing Committee... their presentation was the best that we have ever had by any architect that we have used."
