Celebrating the ribbon cutting for nature explore outdoor classroom at san pedro Early Education center

As the school year comes to an end, we are reflecting on a recent milestone: the ribbon cutting for San Pedro Early Education Center Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom.

The project reimagines the outdoor learning environment, emphasizing immersive nature-based play. The design integrates interactive elements into the landscape to stimulate sensory development, creativity, and physical activity for young learners.

The site features a curated palette of natural textures and materials, fostering imaginative and exploratory play. Design components include balance beams and turf mounds for gross motor development, music and movement areas, nature art boards, dramatic play zones, a trike path, textured concrete, water play area, and space for messy materials to encourage creativity and experimentation.

The scope of work also included accessibility improvements to the parking lot, restrooms, and administration to ensure universal access to the upgraded facility.

We are honored to design a space that supports early childhood learning through exploration, play, and connection to nature. And we love to see this project handed over to the kids who will enjoy it now and for years to come.
