biophilia and sustainability for higher education
PBWS presented a forward-thinking conceptual design for a science building on a higher education campus as part of a design-build competition. The 3-story, 75,000 GSF concept reduces the environmental footprint of the building by sequestering carbon in the mass timber structural system. PBWS applied biophilic design concepts to the project, including natural materials, daylighting, light wells, and interior plants.
